Hi Dela,

Flour comes to mind first. Anything that has been altered from its natural state is considered processed. This includes anything:

  • Canned
  • Frozen
  • Refrigerated
  • Dehydrated
  • Undergoes aseptic processing

When you think about it, that's almost everything in the grocery store today.

Can you think of a more processed food than soy?

Hi Whitney,

You make an interesting point. People do follow their beliefs in the way they eat. If they think eating a high fat diet won't really hurt them, that's what they'll eat. The sad thing is that sometimes what we believe isn't based on the facts. We're lucky today to have plenty of information to make informed decisions on how and what to eat.

Hi Bee,

Thanks for sharing your insight. Not many people understand why people choose to be Vegans.

Stop labeling yourself. Its about eating what you BELIEVE in. not what you "call yourself."

and eating eggs and dairy is indirectly supporting even worse treatment than the meat industry. have some milk if you want to support veal raising and chickens are treated so horrifically in egg laying factories.

I agree with the folks who say vegetarians do not eat fish. Yes, some do eat eggs and milk, but I believe vegetarians abstain from flesh. Those who eat no flesh except fish are pescetarians and not technically vegetarians. I'm going to edit the fish references out. Thanks for the comments!

People who eat fish are not vegetarians. A vegetarian abstains from eating animal flesh.

Actually, there are many people who consider themselves vegetarians but still eat sea food. But, yes. It is obvious. ;)

A fish isn't a vegetable. It is an animal (isn't it obvious?) - therefore fish eaters are not vegetarians. Just felt the need to mention it. Thanks.
