Hi emslie,

I can appreciate your perspective. Many people agree with you.

"Most vegetarians consume egg and milk products, and may even eat fish or chicken occasionally."

This is not correct. Pescetarians (which some people would call a branch of vegetarianism) eat fish and dairy products but no other meat, and those who each chicken, even just occasionally, are NOT vegetarians at all!

Hi Matt,

I agree with you. I recently found a recipe for a raw dish called broccoli mash. Mmmmm.

You'll have to check our our Vegetarian channel here at LoveToKnow.

When nutrition is studied it is found that broccoli contains far more calcium than any dairy product and it is bio-available to you if you eat it raw, unlike dairy which actually removes calcium from your bone matrix due to the fact that protien bonds to calcium and your body excretes the unusable portion of protien, (70%) taking with it the valuable calcium. This is why 3rd world countries do not have problems with osteo porosis, (not to mention cancer and heart disease)yet we in western nations do!! Eat a vegan balanced diet, live healthy, painless and longer.
