Hi Yves,

Fad diets are not a good idea for people with diabetes. They can cause downward spikes in blood sugar. Another thing to consider when tempted to follow a fad diet is that it can also increase cholesterol and blood pressure levels. This creates a high-risk situation for someone with diabetes. I suggest you talk with your doctor about what diet is best for you and how often you'll have to monitor your blood sugar levels while losing weight.

Hi Tom,

Basically, you have followed a restricted calorie diet to lose weight. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your success and experience here at LoveToKnow Diet.

I've actually done this diet or my own version of it more than once. it's a good kick start to anyone wanting to start to lose weight. although I never followed the exact recipe nor the exact foods to eat each day, they say the more soup you eat the better. I mostly had just soup and fruit for the 7 days. I did lose between 10 and 12 pounds each time, and after went on a lean meat, diet of mostly skinless chicken and veggies after. the first time I tried it I didn't continue long enough to be good. but the second time, I did lose 35 lbs over 2 months time. The biggest problem I had was the cabbage soup gives you alot of gas and my kids complained thaat my body odor was worse than ever because of it.

Hi Melody,

This diet has been around for years, and can help in losing weight because it reduces calories. The key is to having a plan when the diet comes to an end. Choose a healthy, balanced eating plan combined with exercise so that you don't gain the weight back.

Hi Tia,

You eat the soup, not just the broth.

Do I eat the complete soup or just the broth? Thank You
