Hi Tara,
Restricted caloric intake has been proven to lengthen life. For every truth there is a counterfeit and it is no different in the diet world.

It is not about losing weight, albeit the 'moon diet' is a gimmick, it is essentially about enlightenment of the Self. In traditional yogic practice one would restrict food intake to consume 1 Tablespoon of food on the new moon, an additional TBS. with each phase until Full Moon is observed where 15 TBS of food is consumed and as the moon rotates around Mother Earth, one less TBS of food is provided with each phase back to the New Moon. Pretty cool, huh?
So, the diet is based on something very true--we are all connected, but the use of the truth is obscured by fads, image, and selfishness.
Thank you for the post.
love and peace, tara

A routine juice fast can be beneficial and therapeutic but I don't believe it has anything to do with the phases of the moon. Juicing does not deprive the body of calories, but supplies it with nutrition in liquid form. You may be surprised to find you have more energy that usual too because it takes 30 per cent of the body's energy to digest food. When juice fasting that energy can be used for other things.
However, before starting any diet it is a good idea to talk it over with your doctor or healthy care provider. They know your medical history and what will work best for you.
