Hi rkhunsaker,

The third (and last) phase is their maintenance phase. This means you've reached your goal weight. Clients are encouraged to check in with their counselors once a week and to stay in the program for at least one year in order to help keep the lost weight off. You will have to check with your counselor as to the specific foods.

Thanks Patricia, it's always sad when a company goes out of business and people have paid for services that will not be delivered.

Call me Polly anna, I know buiness can be tough and we are in business ourselves. Doing business with the wrong people can make your business and life miserable. I believe in L>A> WEight loss. I know it works and wish I could get online to complete what I started.

The LA Weight loss going out of business story is a bit complicated. The founder of NutriSystem, Harold Katz, founded LA Weight Loss 18 years ago. Ten years ago, Karin became a partner, but then they decided to go their separate ways in 2004 because of differing opinions and perspectives on how the company should be run. Here's where it starts to get a little tricky.

Karian held control of corporate centers, most of which are located in cities, including Philadelphia. Katz on the other hand kept the franchising part of the business which has 400 centers. These two separate companies both used the LA Weight Loss name. The part of the business that is going under is also known as Pure Weight Loss and is connected to Karian's part of the business. I was wondering if the la weightloss ("family weightloss") is going out of business in Everett and Lynnwood Washington? I'm currently a member and they still owe me money for maintaining my weightloss. Is there someone i can get a hold of? I've tried calling but only get a recording over and over again and never a real person.

Thank you, Rose

Hi Lucy,

I have not heard of L. A. Weight Loss filing for bankruptcy in the U. S., but Australian LA Weight Loss clinics closed their doors after operating in Australia for about a year. Their Australian clients received letters canceling their contract for further payments, and an online support group was developed.

This weight loss plan just went out of business and the owner is about to now start a new business called "rain skin" even though he will cause a lot of people to lose money becasue of this one closing. How can he be bankrupt with this business but be starting a new one.
