Hi Olives,

Items needed are pretty basic. If you have a small citrus juicer that is handy. Other that that you need:

  • A glass
  • Measuring cup
  • Measuring spoons

As for the ingredients, they are listed in this article.

Hi Hi,

You can get all the exact ingredients measurements in the Lemonade Diet Recipe slideshow. Amounts start on slide three, so have your pencil ready. It goes slow enough to copy it down with no problem.

Hi Kelly,

I also found if I drink the salt water flush with a straw it helps me get it down because I don't taste it as much. I do the same with the lemonade mixture.

For those who want to make up their lemonade ahead, adding the cayenne pepper to each drink like you'd add sweetener to your tea, keeps the spiciness to a minimum.

This is my fourth day on the diet and I feel so good. I also had a little trouble with the cayenne pepper because I pre-mix my drinks in a big jug the night before at my sisters house.(she has an awesome juicer so we dont waste any lemon juice) So, I went out to a Whole Food Market and purchased a bottle of cayenne pepper pills that I take 3-4 of a day with my lemonade and it seems to be working awesome. The only thing I have trouble with is the sea salt flush in the morning, but I found that if I make it hot it is easier to get down :)

Hi Tiff,

I also wean myself from caffeine before I do this cleanse. As for the cayenne pepper. I never add it to the mix until just before drinking. The longer it sits in the liquid, the spicier it gets. By adding it just before you drink it, it tastes much better.

I've been on this diet for one day now and it's been fairly easy but I recommend before you start this cleanse you do a 2 week diet beforehand whereby you cut your calories to about 700-1000 calories a day, this makes it less of a shock to the system when you suddenly cut food all together. also, the 1/10 cayenne pepper dosn't sound a lot but when you make up a batch to go out with it tastes awful and really peppery which consequently made me feel ill, so I have cut down the 1/10 per serving to 1/10 per 2 servings.

Thanks for that bit of information, Jim. When I followed this cleanse, I did drink additional filtered water.

be advised that you should also drink regular filtered water through this cleanse. many friends and co-workers of mine have fainted from dirnk only lemonade.

Hi Rob,

The lemonade mixture is regarded as water replacement, so drink the usual 8-10 glasses per day.

Hi Vickie,

The salt water flush works as an oral enema and should be taken in the morning. Directions say to add 2 level teaspoons of uniodized sea salt to a quart of lukewarm water. Shake it well and drink the entire quart of liquid. It's important to use uniodized sea salt for the full benefit. On page 22 of his book Burroughs does say, "If for some reason the salt water cannot be taken in the morning, then the herb laxative tea must be taken night and morning."

As for the tea, this works as an herbal laxative which you should drink each evening just before going to bed.

Hello, In the lemonade diet, a salt flush is mentioned. Is this a glass of salt and water that I drink, along with this diet. Also, how many cups of diet tea do I need to drink? Thank you, Vickie

Hi Jackie,

Maple syrup provides a balanced form of positive and negative sugar in the Lemonade Diet. Grade A maple syrup has less minerals than the other grades and costs more but it may be used. Grade B adds more minerals to your diet along with more maple taste plus it is less expensive.

Can i use grade A maple syrup if i have already started with it?
