-- Contributed by: Mack BrownHi George,
Thanks for your input. Can real cinnamon be purchased in the U.S.?
Donna
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladMake sure you use real Cinnamon. The Cinnamon sold in the US is mainly Cassia. Cassia has a toxic substance called coumarin and as such should not be consumed in large amounts. However real Cinnamon is safe as the coumarin content is low.
-- Contributed by: GeorgeHi Robert,
That is a good question. Perhaps that's why some people tell me this diet works and others say it doesn't. I do know that raw honey is recommended.
Donna
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladAre the recommending Cassia which is not True Cinnamon, or Ceylon Cinnamon (True) Also what kind of honey?
-- Contributed by: RobertHi KJL,
Thanks for sharing. Most people tell me it doesn't work, and then I hear from people like you. Stay in touch and let me know how it turns out in the long run.

-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladMy husband told me about this weight loss tip and I thought that it was too good to be true. This is my second day drinking the mixture and I lost 2 pounds. When my husband asked me if I lost before I weighed myself, I looked at him like he was crazy. "I just started this yesterday", I said. When he told me that he had already lost, I had to go weigh myself and see if I was that lucky and I was. Good luck everyone.
-- Contributed by: KJLHi Pamela,
I've heard different amounts depending on what condition you are trying to treat or remedy. You can find all you need to know here:
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladhow much do i have to use per day
-- Contributed by: pamelaHi Remi,
I don't know how valid this is, but I'm told that women who have trouble conceiving should add a pinch of cinnamon powder to a half teaspoon of honey. This pasty mixture is applied to the gums throughout the day.
Donna

Hi, can you please tell me how to use cinnamon and honey for cases of infertility. Thank you
-- Contributed by: remiHi Griffin,
Thanks for the heads up!
Donna
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladMake sure that the Cinnamon you consume is Real Cinnamon and not Cassia. The picture on this site is Cassia a substitute for Real Cinnamon. Cassia has a high level of coumarin which could be toxic
-- Contributed by: GriffinHi Priyanka,
What you need to do is eat a balanced diet that consists of less calories than you burn in a day. Here is one place to start.
Figure out how many calories you are eating in a day. You can do this by keeping a food journal for about three days to a week. Once you know how much you've been eating, subtract 500 calories from that for a new daily target. Reducing your calories by 500 calories a day will help you lose a pound a week.
Also, be sure to drink 64 ounces of water each day to help your skin. Here are a couple of articles that can give you more ideas for remedies you can find around your house:

-- Contributed by: priyankaHi Viswan, With diabetes you need to consider the honey. It is a nutritive sweetener and contains carbohydrates and calories. It can be eaten by people with diabetes, but you'll have to watch your blood sugar levels. Personally, I if I were a diabetic, I wouldn't choose this diet.

Donna
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladCan you use ground cinnamon in the bottle?
-- Contributed by: PennyHi Nancy,
If the honey you use has not been pasteurized and is raw, it will have these enzymes. To keep the enzymes alive, add the honey to water no hotter than 116 degrees.
Donna
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI have heard that by putting honey in hot water or boiling water it will kill natural enzymes in honey. Is this correct??
Thank you, Nancy
-- Contributed by: NANCY WHITEHAIRHello again Leotta,
I don't really know if substituting the cinnamon stick in place of cinnamon powder will have the same effect. Be sure to let it steep, and let us know if it does work.
Donna
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi Leotta,
For most people cinnamon powder is used to help an upset stomach, but I always say listen to your body. If it makes you sick, don't use it.
Donna

-- Contributed by: leotta hillmanThe Cinnnnamon Power make me sick, so I use the stick is that alright .
-- Contributed by: leotta hillmanHi Paste or Not,
Not everyone agrees, but if you use raw honey you don't want to add it to boiling water as it will kill the living enzymes. Let the cinnamon steep and add the honey after the mixture has cooled. It can be warm but not hot.

So your sisters have tried the cinnamon and honey drink to lose weight? Please check back with us after you try it and let us know if it works for you too!
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladWell! I'm impressed to hear about the cinnamon diet from my sisters. They say its really great, so I think I better try it too.
-- Contributed by: momalHi Bikegirl,
You are right! Plus Magnesium is supposed to help you sleep better, too.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladthis may work but magnesium pills are great for the colon don't get scammed by other things
-- Contributed by: bikergirlHi Barbara,
From the research I've done, I don't see any reference to making the tea mixture ahead or refrigerating it. Since it is a small amount each day, I suggest you follow the directions as given. However, honey doesn't spoil so if you want to make it ahead, you can try it and see if it still works. Let us know.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladCan you make a large amount of this "tea" then have have the required amont 2 times a day? or do you have to make it each day? As of now I have to make it twice a day as my daughter is using this as well. I hope someone knows the answer to this?
-- Contributed by: BarbaraHi Coral,
I don't know of any reason why it wouldn't be okay to take while pregnant, but if you have doubts, ask your doctor for sure.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi Gwen,
It is not specified. The only recommendation is the cinnamon powder bought at your local grocer.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladit is ok to do the cinnamon and honey during pregnacy?
-- Contributed by: CoralDo you mean c. zelani... (true cinnamon) or c. cassia (Dutch cinnamon)?
-- Contributed by: GwenHi Walter,
I'm not sure what you weigh or how much you hope to lose, but if you're not losing it is because you are taking in enough calories to either maintain your weight or gain. Add exercise to your daily routine to burn some calories and that should do it. And if the cinnamon and honey isn't working for you, I'd stop drinking it. Go for a healthy balanced diet.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI watch what I eat, exercise regularly and have been using cinnamon/honey drink to lose weight with no results for one month. Any advise on why no weight loss?
-- Contributed by: WalterHi Brian,
You can read more about side effect here.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladwhat are the side effects?
-- Contributed by: brianHi CDL,
Ground cinnamon is another name for cinnamon powder.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladCan you use ground cinnamon instead of cinnamon powder?
-- Contributed by: CDLHi Harbant,
This natural mixture is made of honey, cinnamon and water. If you doctor doesn't restrict any of those items in your diet as a breastfeeding mother, you should be good to go. I haven't heard of any reason you shouldn't be able to drink it, but it is good to always check with your doctor.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi Donn,
I have not read of extreme bowel movements following the intake of cinnamon and honey. It is not the the herbal "diet teas" used in the Master Cleanse Diet.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI want to reduce my weight after my baby born. After my delivery can the cinnamon and honey mixture cause any side effect? Because after delivery I'm breastfeeding.
-- Contributed by: harbantWhen I take this cinnamon powder and honey, will it make me go to the bathroom like cause extreme bowel movements? What should I expect?
-- Contributed by: DonnHi trust,
Sorry, I've never heard a gain in height attributed to drinking honey and cinnamon.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladcan honey and cinnamon powder also help in increasing height?
-- Contributed by: ..Hi Mitzi
The best honey to use is local raw honey. This can often be found at your local health food store.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladwhat kind of honey can i use? would it be recommended to buy honey on grocery stores?
-- Contributed by: mitziHi Aman,
Cinnamon powder is found at your local grocery in the section that sells spices. Otherwise, you can buy it online.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladFrom where we can get this cinnamon powder? Please help.
-- Contributed by: amanHi G.,
Of the many comments made on this diet, most tell us they are starting, but don't come back to give us the results. If you look at all the comments you may see them.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladAnybody who has lost wt. by using the above combination of honey and cinnamon powder , please provide the full details of the success story.
-- Contributed by: G.JAGANNADHA DASHi Elizabeth,
I'd be interested in perhaps writing an article on this. Would you mind if I contacted you off board?
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladDonna, For me it's not hard at all since I live in an area ripe with Amish farms. The government is all up in arms about people using raw milk and try to shut farms down that sell it. Think of the revenue they will lose if people figure out milk from grass fed cows is not only safe but has huge health benefits! I have asked the Amish how often they get sick and how often their children have ear infections, the answer is rarely. They also see a much lower percentage of behavior disorders in their children. Can't say it is all the milk but they do seem to have better immune systems. Allergies are almost unheard of in their community too.
-- Contributed by: ElizabethHi Elizabeth,
Thanks for stopping by and offering your input. How hard is it to find raw cow's mile from grass fed cows?
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladFor this to work you can not put the honey in boiling water, it will kill all the good stuff in it. Let the boiling water and cinnamon sit for 10 minutes or so and then add honey(must be raw unpastuerized) and let steep for another 20 minutes. Strain. Keep morning dose in fridge and do not reheat. Read up on the benefits of raw milk from grass fed cows too! I have gone back to raw milk and have seen amazing results.
-- Contributed by: ElizabethHi saleha
It's always best to check with your doctor before making changes in your diet. You can talk with him about the exciting research underway to evaluate the effects of cinnamon in type 2 diabetes. When using cinnamon, check your blood glucose often to be sure that it is not lowered too much. If that happens, you'll have to talk with your doctor about changing the dose of your diabetes medications. Longer term effects on blood glucose control can be assessed by checking A1C levels.
Although cinnamon bark and cinnamon flowers are used medicinally, Chinese cinnamon, or Cinnamomum aromati..., is the form used for diabetes. The active ingredient in cinnamon includes the chemical hydroxychalcone, which might enhance the effect of insulin as it works on insulin receptors to increase insulin sensitivity and helps promote glucoses uptake into cells and tissues.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladhi dear i really want to lose weight with honey and cinnamon but i have diabeties too so can u plz tell me the right way to lose weight with cinnamon.

-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI started it today.....will let you people know if it's effective, but believe me it isn't that bad in taste :)
-- Contributed by: maram ziaOkay, thanks. I just wanted to be sure. I'm going to have to give it a try.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladYes I use 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
-- Contributed by: Karen TateHi Karen,
Interesting. Do you also add cinnamon?
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladMy 64 year old mother told me about it. I saw it for my self she has lost belly fat and has great engergy. I started it and have also lost belly fat and my energy has gone up. However we use 1 tablespoon of honey and add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinager. Love it.
-- Contributed by: Karen TateHi Nicki,
When you boil the water and pour it over the cinnamon, you let it steep for 30 minutes and add the honey when it has cooled some so as not to kill the enzymes. The tea can be refrigerated, but should not be reheated. So you can drink warm, cold or at room temperature.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladShould I be having thiis mixture hot or cold?
-- Contributed by: NickiHi Angel,
The honey recommended is raw unpasteurized honey. Most times if it says PURE on the label it is most likely pasteurized. The difference is that the enzymes are all heated out of the pasteurized honey. As for the cinnamon, you can finely grind cinnamon sticks to make your own powder.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladMay I know is the honey should be pure honey? The cinnamon must be in powder form? I can't get any.. Please reply.. Thanks..
-- Contributed by: AngelThat's great Rashmi,
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment here at LoveToKnow Diet. Your success will encourage others.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladSo nice thanks. I lost my 6 Kg weight within 1 month.
-- Contributed by: rashmiHi Rajeshwari,
It is not recommended to over use the honey and cinnamon drink. If you reach your gaol weight goal within weeks or a month stop drinking it. If you need longer, don't go beyond 2-4 months.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi Rajeshwari,
Thanks for stopping by and letting others know this worked for you.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladGreat solution for weight reduction! I tried it for 2 days before going to bed. Is it ok to boil the cinnamon sticks in water and then mix a tsp. of honey and have it warm? Are there any other herbs/spices to reduce weight? As my problem area is mostly the abdomen I would benefit from this drink, I hope! Should I take this daily? Will it not upset the stomach or any other side effects?
-- Contributed by: rajeshwariyeah it works! i tried it on flu.
-- Contributed by: GilbertHi Flying,

Hello,
I am trying this mixture for 4 days, so hoping to see good results. Can you give me other powerful and fast home remedies to lose weight? I have lots of hope on you after reading this article. Can you also tell me how to lose waist, thighs and arms also please.
-- Contributed by: sanjuI drank a cup of the mixture myself this morning, and I'm going to see what it does in a week.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladThanks for the reply Donna!
Actually, I tried the tea version and it was a little too intense for my liking -not to mention a lot of work and waiting just to consume a little bit of honey & cin. I don't think I could make a daily habit of that routine. Eating it directly from a spoon was also more intense than I thought it would be ... BUT, spreading it on a folded piece of wheat toast was just PEFECT, which is the same way I eat honey JUST FOR FUN! (Sounds like the Goldilocks story doesn't it? :-)
Anyway, I just wanted your opinion ... and it sounds like the important thing is to simply consume the mixture, one way or another, twice a day. Piece of cake!
Thanks again ...
-- Contributed by: IanHi Ian,
I'm not sure of any benefit for the water other than giving you a more satisfied, filled feeling. If you use raw honey and want to preserve the nutritional benefits, instead of boiling the honey and destroying important enzymes, you can boil your half cup of water and pour it over the half teaspoon of cinnamon powder and then add your teaspoon of honey when it has cooled a little.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladDonna, does one have to consume this mixture in the form of a tea (kind of a hassle). Does the boiling water activate something? ... or can I simply mix the honey and cinnamon together and eat it from a spoon ...?
-- Contributed by: IanHi Pat,
That's great news. Please keep us up to date as you use this formula.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI have been using the cinnamon & honey on toast & it is delicious. I've been taking the formula for longivity for 3 weeks & I'm starting to really feel good. I had a TIA a month ago & recovered quickly. I just started the weight loss formula 2 days ago & I've already lost 2 pounds. I love the honey & cinnamon & I'm so glad that I found out about it. Pat
-- Contributed by: PatHi Ivory,
You can filter with cheese cloth or just pour carefully to avoid sediment in your tea mixture.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI am wondering the same thing as Ivory....
-- Contributed by: MandiI'm curious, why must you filter it? And with what do I filter it with without a coffee filer?
-- Contributed by: IvoryHi PV,
According the recommendations you can still have your lemon and honey water, but must drink the honey cinnamon mixture one-half hour before breakfast and one-half hour before going to sleep at night. Thanks for visiting LoveToKnow Diet and sharing your experience. Congratulations on your weight loss.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi, I have been taking Lemon & honey water for about 6 months i have lost about 25 lbs along with Diet and workout. now i want to start on cinnamon & honey can i still take Lemon & Honey water first thing then Cinnamon & honey 1/2 Hour before breakfast? or should i take cinnamon & honey first thing? is Lemon water consider empty stomac. please advise.
-- Contributed by: PVHi Cindy,
Raw honey contains amylase, an enzyme concentrated in flower pollen. This enzyme aids in predigesting starchy foods. If the label says "pasteurized" then the honey is not raw. Pasteurization breaks down the amylase content, so it makes sense that raw honey makes the best choice.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi Bob,
Thanks for letting us know of your success. Did you change any of your eating habits, or just add the honey and cinnamon drink to your daily eating plan?
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI have used this for 2 months & have loss 12 lbs.But you have to use raw honey it works
-- Contributed by: bobI've been doing this for over two weeks now and I'm wondering if I just use regular cinnamon powder and honey in the bottle out of the grocery store? I've read different articles that say you can only use cylon cinnamon? and raw honey? THANKS for your help with this question. Cindy

-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladIf I do more than what the specification on quantity of boiling cinnamon and honey. What will be the result or side effects if I made a lot of quantity and put in the fridge. In addition, will refergerating the content will cause any side effects or will still stay the same results w/o putting in the fridge.
-- Contributed by: RobertHi Pat,
Good point. I looked into it further and see there are a variety of methods people use including making a paste of the cinnamon and honey and letting it sit for half an hour or so before adding the boiling water. Then stir and cover the mixture for another half hour before filtering.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladBarb, You do not boil the honey and cinnamon, You boil a cup of water or pour boiling water into a cup with the honey and cinnamon in it and stir. You let it set after straining thru a coffee filter. This is my understanding of the directions.
-- Contributed by: PatHi Barb,
Yes, there are two camps on this. Those who believe that cooking your foods cause a loss of the nutritional benefits and those who don't. Thanks for taking the time to comment and for reading here at LoveToKnow Diet.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI've studied nutrition and herbs for many years and question the method of boiling the honey for the weightloss info. It's my understanding that most nutrients would be lost in boiling.
