Hi Emma,

All of us have different body types, and if you tend to gain around the middle, even 10 pounds can show up as muffin top. The best way to get rid of it is a commitment to ongoing healthy eating and regular exercise. How long have you been working at losing your muffin top?

I've been trying for over a year to lose my muffin top. I'm 30, 5ft 2 and 10 pounds overweight. I just have a muffin top. I eat healthy and exercise and so far nothing has worked for me. I'm desperate.

I became excited about this diet and have completed the 4 day- and started on the 28day. I went online and signed in even though I have the book. I have not been able to access my food plan, daily meals, shopping lists, etc. There is no eat onmy computer. If I can't get this, I want to cancel my trial period.

Hi Mina,

Apple cider vinegar has been used for weight loss successfully by many. I personally tried it and it didn't really do anything for me in that regard. However it is good for you and I use it in salad dressings and in cooking. For me, the key to losing weight is to eat less. If the ACV helps you eat less, then it will help you lose weight.

hi Donna,

i wanted to know if apple cider vinegar really helps in losing belly fat the fastest is that true?

-- Contributed by: Mina

Hi Benjamin,

No that's not true, and it is illegal. In fact, studies show that people who regularly smoke pot gain weight over time.

-- Contributed by: Donna Sundblad

I heard that smoking weed helps in loosing your belly. Is this true?

Hi Amy,

Sounds like you're doing everything right. It could be your body type working against you. If you happen to be an apple-shaped woman, you will have a fuller bust and waist, and a smaller rear end and hips. Apple shapes tend to hold weight around their stomach instead of their hips. It sounds like you're doing everything you should be doing to combat that including:

  • healthy diet
  • active lifestyle
  • fat-burning workouts

Toning and strengthening your upper body is also important.

The fact that you are in a size 8 pant tells me you are not overweight by any means for your height. Another possibility is that you have a distorted view of what you really look like. What do your parents think?

Hey, I'm 16 years old and am 5'9" and wear a size 8 pant. Though I work out vigorously daily and my body mass index is at a healthy level and the majority of my body mass is muscle, my stomach is still a trouble area. I do sit ups and crunches daily and still see very little to no results. What could I be doing wrong?

Hi Maria,

Unfortunately, not everyone is as disciplined or as knowledgeable as you and so they turn to books to gain control over their weight. When you say "if you eat the wrong foods" for some people that mean something totally different than it does to you. Remember, most people have grown up on the SAD diet and don't really know anything different.

-- Contributed by: Donna Sundblad

Another Gimmick to get people to buy a book. Asinine.... nothing works any better than the simple fact of heating healthy from the earth foods without preservatives and controlled portions and working out in a moderate way so you sill simply burn up what you eat ... for the world of me I cannot understand why people keep falling for this crap..., wake up and smell the truth.... if you eat the wrong foods you will gain all over and if you do not workout it will even accumulate faster.... so stop stuffing your face and know when to stop eating and work out.... nothing else works.

Can you tell me where to find the above listed Flat Belly Diet?

-- Contributed by: Dianne

Hi Pasty,

For your height your BMI would be around 27 and your waist indicates that you do gain weight around the middle so you'll want to take steps to bring that down.

Hi Lujain,

I don't know how tall you are or if you really need to lose weight, but to reach your ideal weight, it's best to cut out junk foods, eat less at meals, avoid sugary drinks and desserts, and add exercise to your daily life. Here are a few other articles that might be of help:

Hi Melat,

For girls your height and age, the ideal weight is around 163 lbs. For boys, it is 182. The best way to lose weight is through eating a sensible diet and exercise. The following links provide practical information to help you get started.

Hey,

I want to lose at least 20 lbs. and I'm 6'1 tall and around 190 lbs. I'm 17 years old and I'd really like some help in achieving this and learning more about how to lose weight.

Hi Steve,

You've set a goal. 40 lbs. Now you need to plan to take the steps to achieve it. It reminds me of the TV commercial where the guy is holding 5 bowling balls and says that this is how much he has lost off his gut. If he can do it, you can do it. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Louise,

You're right. There's all kinds of conflicting advice out there. This Flat Belly Diet has been tested and is backed by Prevention magazine, so it might be worth a try. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Rita,

That's the question with any diet, isn't it? I certainly understand how you feel. From all information available it does look like this diet works. Take a look at the Good Morning America link and see one woman who took part in the test study. Maybe this is the answer you've been looking for.

Hi Carlene,

This is not an easy question as you know. There are a number of reasons. First, is to ask why you have a huge appetite. I know one man who tells me he never feels full and the only way he has lost weight is to count calories so that he is aware of how much he has eaten. Using this method he has lost over 80 lbs.

You might want to check with your doctor too to see if there is a medical reason such as glucose intolerance affecting both your weight and appetite.

And lastly, be sure to choose whole food when you eat because whole foods they keep you satisfied for longer and provide nutrients necessary for good health and ideal weight.

Hi Donna,

I have a huge appetite ever since I was a child and did not have a weight problem. I now eat a third of what I used to eat in my twenties. I tried eating small portion and lose weight, but I feel like i am starving. Now I eat till I am satisfied and I gained all the weight back. What am I to do?

Hi Lesley,

According to the BMI Index, a BMI below 18.5 = underweight but just a little bit. However, you can't go strictly by this number. A short waisted person (depending on body build) may have less space between the ribs and pelvis, but has a lower height/width ratio and thus a wider waist.

-- Contributed by: Donna Sundblad

My BMI is 18. I'm 5'4" tall and weigh 110 lbs. I'm of small build and have a waist of 30". Is this normal?
