Hi Cindy,
I know eggs are eaten on this diet but I don't know about limitations. Maybe one of our readers will be able to answer your question.

-- Contributed by: CindyHi Debbie,
What I would recommend is using the allowed foods as an ingredient list to build a breakfast you'll enjoy. I've not followed this particular diet, so perhaps one of our readers will be able to answer your question.

-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI just started diet 3 days ago. I am a french bread junkie!! I need to lose around 20 pounds. I never had a weight problem till I went through menopause. I am very surprised how well I am doing. I am eating the Ezekial english muffins, they are great. I do not like eggs, or cheese, or yogurt, so breakfast is a problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Snacks I have been having cashews and strawberries, does that sound ok? thanks so much
-- Contributed by: DebbieHi Sue,
If it is made with whole grain it is allowed.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI've been reading alot about Dreamfields pasta, is that allowed on Dr. Gotts diet? The nutrition label lists only durim wheat semolina, b vitamins, fiber blend, sorbitol, wheat gluten, and potassium chloride. It has only 1
-- Contributed by: SueHi Jane,
Not everyone can "stomach" artificial sweeteners. Just with Splenda alone, observational evidence shows side effects like:
- skin rashes/flushing
- panic-like agitation
- dizziness
- numbness
- diarrhea
- muscle aches
- headaches
- intestinal cramping
- bladder issues
- stomach pain
What you'll have to do is try the various sugar substitutes to see which of them don't bother you, if any.
One other option is to look into using the herb stevia as a natural sweetener.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI seem to be having gastric problems with artificial sweeteners - is there anything I can do about that
-- Contributed by: JaneHi Bunken,
Yes you can eat things like Ezekiel sprouted grain bread and yes Gott's recipes include artificial sweeteners.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladWhat about "sprout grains", sugar substitutes and non-refined sweetners: ie: cane juice, sugar alcholol, fruit sweetners, etc.???
-- Contributed by: BunkenHi Andre,
Yes, whole foods are eaten on this diet.

Thank you for your answer. I found the link very interesting.
-- Contributed by: LisaHi Lisa,
Whether or not aspartame is okay to consume is controversial. Dr. Gott's book recommends it, but I suggest you check with your doctor for his input as well. Here's a link with more information:
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladYou say that aspartame is okay. Do you think it is safe long term when consumed daily as in Diet coke.
-- Contributed by: LisaHi Sandi,
One source for recipes is the Hallelujah diet which also eliminates sugar and flour. You can find a good number of recipes here.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladJust started diet 4 days ago. I need some quick meal ideas? Where can I find them on internet?
-- Contributed by: SandiHi Mark,
There are many diets that eliminate refined products, and there are other diets that follow specific food combinations. Suzanne Sommers found a combination of these that worked for her.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladWhat do you think about Suzanne Somers' Somersizing diet? It sounds a lot like yours.
-- Contributed by: MarkHi Kathy,
No flour means no flour. Period. Dr. Gott's book even offers guidelines to help his readers find the hidden flour and sugar in many foods.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladIs oat flour okay? Such as Quaker Oats 1 minute type?
-- Contributed by: Kathy RWow, Stephanie, that is great! 70 pounds. Thanks so much for stopping by here at LoveToKnow Diet to encourage others with your success. Keep up the good work and let us know how you progress.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI am just learning about this book, and I plan to pick it up for some ideas. I am a testimony that it works, just like Dr. Gott claims. I started a No Flour, No Sugar diet the 1st of October. I have lost 70 pounds. It is not a get weight off quick, but with continueing my new way of eating and a healthy exercise plan, I am still slowly loosing and keeping all the wight off. Let me know if I can help anyone.
Hi Mona,
I'm not sure what your current weight is or what it should be. Sometimes mixing your diet up a bit can jump start your weight loss again. For example, cut back on your intake of nuts or higher calories foods and increase your veggies. Once you start to lose again, go back to what's been working for you.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI have been following this plan since March 17 and have lost 17 pounds. However, I have not lost anything in the past month and have not veered from the plan. Any suggestions?
-- Contributed by: MonaHi Amber,
Thanks for the helpful tips and taking the time to share them with us.

This is where it pays to read your labels. V-8 juice's label lists: Tomato Juice from Concentrate (Water, Tomato Paste), Reconstituted Vegetable Juice Blend (Water and Concentrated Juices of Carrots, Celery, Beets, Parsley, Lettuce, Watercress, Spinach), Lemon Juice from Concentrate (Water, Lemon Juice Concentrate), Salt, Natural Flavoring, Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), Citric Acid.
While many health advocates remind us that packaged juice cannot replace fresh natural juice, however it is a better choice than sugary drinks.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladIs V-8 juice permissible on this diet?
-- Contributed by: MonaHi Johnny,
Unsweetened means no sugar is added, but fruit does contain natural sugars. A good rule of thumb is to see where sugar falls in the list of ingredients. If it is number 4 our more then the sugar content is usually not high.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladWe are currently on the No Flour, No Sugar diet, however we are also trying your Certo/Grape Juice arthritis cure. We purchased unsweetened grape juice per the recommendations and noticed it has 40mg of sugar. Is this forbidden on the NFNS diet?
Hi Sylvia,
Dr. Gott's plan has 2 main rules: No flour and no sugar. If you can eat your farina without sugar you can have it. Dr. Gott does suggest a syrup made of dates and figs to sweeten hot cereal.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladIs Farina hot cereal allowed on the Dr. Gott's No Flour, No Sugar Diet?
-- Contributed by: SylviaHi Alice,
You can look for Ezekiel Bread in the frozen foods section of many grocery stories or health food stores. This Sprouted Grain Bread lists the following ingredients:
- Organic Sprouted Wheat
- Organic Sprouted Barley
- Organic Sprouted Millet
- Malted Barley
- Organic Sprouted Lentils
- Organic Sprouted Soybeans
- Organic Spelt
- Filtered Water
- Fresh Yeast
- Sea Salt
I got Dr Gott's cookbook and am just reading first. I tried one day to go without flour or sugar. It was not as hard as I thought it would be. I am now looking for a bread recipe. I did not find one in your cookbook. Your help would be great. Thank you. Alice Watters Lincoln, Nebraska
-- Contributed by: Alice WattersI found Shredded wheat bite-size biscuits and there is nothing on them except wheat. Is this OK to eat as a breakfast cereal? It is sold under the ShurFine name here in Lancaster, Pa.
-- Contributed by: Anna Marie BareI got Dr. Gott's cookbook while staying with my mom when she was in the hospital. I cooked the mushroom barley soup and meatballs for the first night she was home - she was in heaven! Since then, I've cooked the chicken with prunes, the omelet muffins, and moroccan chicken stew - ALL of the recipes are amazingly easy, and OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD!!!! I'm so happy I bought the book - it was the best investment I've made in a long time.
