Hi Esaw,

Fatty liver is reversible if people change their diet and stop drinking. It is best to talk this over with your doctor because he/she will know your specific medical history.

If you count carbs that can help, but be sure to steer clear of the foods listed in the article on the "avoid" list and learn to add foods to your diet that are healthy for you.

Hi Mary Lou,

It does all become a bit confusing when so many claims are out there telling us their products if best. Most margarines have stopped using trans fats in their products now so there are a number of possibilities from which to choose. The American Heart Association recommends soft margarine brands that don't contain trans fat such as:

  • Becel
  • Benecol
  • Blue Bonnet Soft Spread
  • Canola Harvest Non-Hydrogenated
  • I Can't Believe it's not Butter
  • Promise
  • Smart Balance Light

Please tell me which of the "heart healthy margarines" is really best. I just can't figure it out by reading the labels!! Thank you!!
