Hi Thin,

It will be best to coordinate the right diet for you with your health care provider, but a diabetic diet is often a good choice.

Hello I'm Pat, I'm a thin pcos so (105 pounds) so I don't want to be any skinnier but I need to be on a low carb diet obviously because my symptoms are horrible and I had no period for a year. I only get period if I'm on birth control. Which diet would you suggest. Thank you

Hi Lee,

The diets listed here are the best for PCOS. My suggestion is to choose the diet you can stick to, and to of course talk to your doctor. I personally find a calorie restricted diet easiest because I can measure to know whether or not I'm staying on target.

Hi Donna I'm 19 yrs old and have PCOS. It was diagnosed by my Gyne about 4 or 5 yrs ago. I have been overweight for most of my life that U can remember, but just like the other ladies here, I pick up weight only on my abdominal area. I think most of my teenage life I've been on this diet, that diet, but always seem to lose weight and my confidence has gone with it, living with depression in my teenage yrs has been tough and I must admit noting has changed, not me not my weight, and I have decided to once again take this road. I pray that I will stay on the right path to a better me!! What diet could you recommend for me?

Hi Cath,

Did your doctor recommend a diet to help you? The diets listed in this article have shown to help people with PSOS. The fact that it affects so many areas, it really is best to talk with your doctor.

Have you tried any of the diets listed in this article? I'd like to hear what works and what doesn't.

Im exactly the same, I used to be skinny all over, and used to distribute fat evenly but about 6 months before I was diagnosed with PSOS my stomach and love handles grew. Im still skinny everywhere except in those areas.

I was diagnosed with PCOS just few months ago. I'm 120# almost 5'4. I'm skinny everwhere else except my belly area. Its like I've had the 10#'s I've gained over the yrs go directly to my belly and love handles. Any sugggestion for diet?
