Hi Sahar,

You'll find plenty of information here that can answer your questions, but I suggest you visit the Diet Forums. You'll find the link at the top of the page on the left. It's a bright yellow bard. This will take you to a community of people willing to share, encourage and offer what help they can.

Hi Jen,

It can be a challenge in today's age to keep a child active during the winter. You might want to get him an exercise ball or a mini trampoline. And you can lead by example. Limit snacks to one a day and make that a guideline.

My 9 yr. old has worked himself down to 117 lbs. from 144 lbs. by making better choices about what he eats and spending more time outside, but winter is approaching and I'm looking for more ways to help him get closer to the 75 lbs. that is average for his age and height. Your site has helped, but it would be great to find more activities that he can do to replace eating out of boredom when he is stuck inside. He has to move a lot with such a slow metabolism.

Kori,

You are right. You are not overweight. You are not finished growing and at 14 you will not be the same size as you were at 13 and next year you will most likely be a little taller and possibly heavier. Eat healthy and exercise regularly and you will maintain a healthy look. If you're worried about how you look, talk to your family doctor and see what he recommends.

Hi, my name is Kori,

I'm not obese, I'm not over weight, I'm 14 years old 5'2 and weigh probably 120... well thats not good for me. Last summer I looked a ton smaller in my bikini than others and this year I'm scared I wont. Do you have advice on what to eat and what exercises to do to lose about 10-15 pounds?
