Hi Cloe,
It isn't all water weight. You will burn some fat, and if you take in too few calories you may also lose some lean muscle mass. So you lost 10 pounds in one week!
Let me know what you weight in one more week. That's usually how I judge what I actually lost and I'd love your input.
Donna
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI have just finished my week on the cabbage soup diet and it is amazing. I have a hard time believing it is just water weight that you are loosing when you cut down so much on calories. If cutting down on calories means that you only loose water weight than I don't know why anyone would want to diet at all. My pants fit better and I am down 10lbs.
-- Contributed by: CloeHi Pes,
I've known people who have followed this diet and swear by it. However, eating the one low-calorie food to lose weight is the mark of a a fad diet and I would steer clear of it.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladwhat a useless diet
-- Contributed by: pesHi Sally,
Thanks for stopping by and letting us know about your experience with this diet. Remember that it is not a good long-term plan, but can work to help break eating habits and cravings. You've got an exercise plan in place and that is a plus. You'll be ready to move on to a low cal diet and will continue to lose. Stop by and let us know how it goes.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi Malynda,
This "diet" really should not be followed for long because it is so low in calorie. That's one of the reasons you experienced weakness and light-headedness. Now that you have broken the overeating of processed foods habit, and have kept the weight off it will be best for you to follow a low calorie healthy diet that provides the nutrition you need for good health and still lose weight.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladAm on the cabbage diet at the moment and much as it can be very boring, it has a lot of benefits in terms of cutting back on booze and all other goodies one has over done at xmas. I work out and eat healthy food but I needed to get back on track after eating and drinking too much.
It's not easy to follow, some days are very hard especially in the office when everyone is eating tasty food but it's worth it in the long run. I won't be drinking any time soon. My energy is increased in the morning when I am working out, but in the evening I feel extra tired. It's worth it if you have will power. There is nothing in the diet to cause any health problems. It's all vegetables and fruits plus the protein at the last two days.
-- Contributed by: Unless one has tried it.........This diet worked wonderfully for me. I went from 175 pounds to 165 pounds in a week. And I haven't gained back an ounce. Actually, I currently weigh 154. This diet was an awesome way to transition from a diet full of processed, high fat content foods, with over eating at that, to a more sensible one. At 5'3 1/2" I still have a ways to go on the weight loss front, and I would consider doing this diet again. Although I did experience some weakness, light-headedness, and dizziness, the symptoms were worth the results.
-- Contributed by: MalyndaHi Pes,
For the most part your are right. I wouldn't recommend it for more than three days to a week.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladi still think it is a really useless diet which can lead to many health problems and eating disorders.
-- Contributed by: pesHi Pes,
While this diet drastically cuts calories, it may work as a springboard to a weight loss plan, but I wouldn't recommend it long term.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladUseless diet.
-- Contributed by: pesHi Joanie,
Thanks for the tip. The trouble with most fad diets centered around one food is that they do get boring and then when you go back to eating other foods the weight often comes back on.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladThis works but as with anything it takes extreme discipline. I have does this before and had great results. This time around it is even more dramatic. The first two or three days the soup is ok but after that it needs lots of spicing up. I use hot sauce or use taco seasoned meat in the soup.

Thanks for taking the time to comment here at LoveToKnow Diet. This diet does result in weight loss, but it is not recommended for a long term plan.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladthis diet is REALLY good. i mean its bad for you because of the malnutrition BUT it does make you lose weight FAST. i recommenced a little exercise and the diet. therefore you have a little bit more energy. but nothing too much, just a a walk in the park everyday for 30 minutes.
-- Contributed by: sandiHi Stacy,
Many diets are promoted as lifestyle changes, but if they aren't really a life style change, you're right. The weight will come back on. Healthy eating and exercise is the best way to lose weight and keep it off. Thanks for taking the time to comment here at LoveToKnow Diet.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladThis diet like many others is crazy and to be honest i don't believe in DIETS.You must eat healthy and exercise, dieting will only cause the weight to come back once you are off of it.People need to start realizing that your body image is not everything that instead they should worry about their health. Not whether or not they fit into a size 2.
-- Contributed by: stacie torresHi Multiple,
Some proponents say the cabbage is a diuretic which would cause you loose fluid.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladU know, as far as I am concerened there are times when our bodies DO hold too much water. This may help with that.
-- Contributed by: MultipleSarcasmsHi Latty,
The fact that you can get into your bikini is a good sign. And the fact that you know that it's tight as the holiday's draw near should help motivate you to take action now. The Cabbage Soup diet can be followed for a little as a week to help get off that little bit of weight, or longer if necessary.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladThat's great to hear, paravinthan.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladwow my bikini is tight
-- Contributed by: lattyi liked it, it lost all my weight
-- Contributed by: paravinthanThank you for sharing your experience.
-- Contributed by: Kathleen RobertsI have been on a million diets, and I am not proud of that. The cabbage diet didnt stand a chance. I HATED the soup. It had no flavor and it was awful. I was losing weight but it didnt last past three days. My stomach felt awful and the mere smell of the soup was insulting by the 3rd day. I only recommend this to people who need to lose a few pounds in a short span who could stomach that awful soup.
