Hi John,

It's not easy to transition to a bland diet all on your own for some people. Bland foods don't really give you a lot of variety. If you look at the basic menu in this article and plug in the foods from your list that might work. Let me know if you have any questions.

Dear Donna: I'm eighty years old with stomach problems. Doctor put me on a bland diet. Just gave me a sheet of paper what foods to eat and not to eat. Dosn't give me enough to go on. John

Hi Diane,

Here is a list that might be helpful. There really aren't many recipes as bland foods are eaten rather plain.

I wanted to see recipes not just generalized foods.

Hi Cheri,

You're right. It's just like people with diabetes who have to change their diet. It's not always what our taste buds want to do, but the change for better health is worth it.

I have just been told I have to eat a bland diet, too, and I love food, too, but I love life more. I want to be here for a long time so If I have to give up one thing I love for another, I will do it. Sometimes you just have to.

Hi Shannon,

Changing our eating is never easy. It's best to follow your doctor's recommendations for better health now and in the future.

I'm suppost to be on a bland diet for the rest of my life. I have never lived by this because I LOVE TO EAT!!! Here lately my stomach has been giving me more trouble and I'm afraid if I don't change I may get stomach cancer in the future.
