Hi Lisa,
That's also a wise approach because our bodies need a variety of foods to be healthy. For further interaction with other dieters, you can visit our diet forums by clicking the yellow bar in the top left corner of the page. Hope to see you there!

Yes, there are options for eating on the run on the Atkins Diet. Thanks for reading here at LoveToKnow Diet and taking the time to offer your thoughts.

You can do Atkins on a shoestring! Eggs are fairly cheap and are ideal for breakfast. You can add cheese, mushrooms, onions, and peppers, or eat them plain. Either way, they're tasty and Atkins-approved.
For lunch, you can have a bit of salad greens with chicken. At dinnertime, have chicken or beef with salad greens or cooked veggies. If you can find steak on sale (or use a less expensive cut, such as round steak), you can dress it up really nicely. I like to saute mushrooms and onions with my steak and top with cheese. You can do the same thing with hamburger patties or chicken breasts. It's like a fajita without the tortilla. Yum!

From there you can formulate which foods are on the plan as well as being within your budget. I can't tell you what foods you can afford, but if you look at the recommended foods you will be able to see what foods you can afford and make yourself a list. Also, use this list while browsing the sale papers each week to create an affordable shopping list.
