Hi Suzanna,
The reason stretch marks occur is that your skin is stretched to the point of breaking down. Losing weight does not cause the skin to stretch, so really it is weight gain, not weight loss that is the culprit.

Actually it's a well known fact that rapid weight loss OR gain may cause stretch marks. Thankfully we have enough creams namely those containing Vitamin E to help counteract that side effect. Although, i would suggest visiting you GP prior to embarking on any diet or weight loss adventure!
-- Contributed by: SuzannaHi Michelle,
Stretch marks are not caused by rapid weight loss but by weight gain when the skin is stretched to the point of breaking down.
Donna

-- Contributed by: lcrdrg@aol.comHi Missy,
I believe that would be teaspoons. I've tried this in the past and even teaspoons makes the drink quite tart. I can't imagine tablespoons. However, I do make my own salad dressing and use it liberally.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladare you suppose to take 1-2 teaspoons or 1-2 tablespoons per 8 oz. I've read both. Just curious as to which one is correct. Thanks
-- Contributed by: missyHi Usottseff,
I'd suggest using less at the beginning and working your way up to the full 2 TBL. I have heated my water, not hot but very warm and added the ACV and some honey. It's more like tea then.
Your stomach cramps could be a sign of detox, so I'd take it easy and work into drinking it a little at a time.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi, This is my first time trying the ACV diet. I bought the stuff that has the 'mother' on the label. According to all my research, it said to be sure to get that one as it has all the 'miracle' goodness in it. LOL So, I found it in my natural food store. I almost PUKED the first time I took it! I was burping vinegar the whole day! (It says on the bottle that you take 1-2 tsp with 8 oz. water 2- times a day.) 2nd day taking it, was just as awful, but I managed to keep from puking by eating some bread. This is my 3rd day, and I think that I am actually getting ok with it!!! I learned to dilute it with some warm water instead of cold. It goes down smoother. But, I have a question. Is it normal for my stomach to clench with cramps after taking it? I took it an hour ago, and it's still clenching.... help?!?!
-- Contributed by: ACV DietSorry about that, Liz. Thanks for letting me know.

-- Contributed by: lizardluvsmitchiepooHi Kirsten,
I have gleaned the same information from my research. I never used the pills because I can get used to the taste of the ACV. Thanks so much for taking the time to offer your input!
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi Mitch,
I can drink the ACV, but it is not my favorite. Thanks for the input.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHey Donna, I would have to say that the pills are easy to swallow and does not have a bad taste but the pill usually do not contain the right dose of ACV and usually the pills don't even contain actual ACV. So for the people that cant handle the taste of ACV should not even do unless they are desperate.
-- Contributed by: Kirsten DoveyI would say that you should definitely try the pill instead because the liquid will make you throw up. Especially if you are pregnant. Thanks Mitch! I love you!
-- Contributed by: lizardlovesmitchiepooHi Kirsten,
I agree, but some people have a hard time with the taste of the ACV and tablets give them an option.
-- Contributed by: Donna Sundbladi would suggest that you use the actual liqud form of the ACV because it has better and healthier benifits.

-- Contributed by: Kirsten DoveyHi Elle,
Many people use apple cider vinegar in their salad dressings or drink a tablespoon diluted in a glass of water once or twice per day and find it effective while undiluted apple cider vinegar, in liquid or pill form, may damage the esophagus and other parts of the digestive tract. As for tooth enamel, apple cider vinegar drinks may cause damage if the vinegar is sipped.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladAre tooth enamel, digestive tract and esophagus still damaged if the acv is diluted in 8oz. of water. Are the benefits the same with diluted acv?How about if the acv is placed at the back of the tongue-Please respond, thank you,Elle-- Contributed by: Elle
Hi Vic,
Apple cider vinegar in a pill form is chemically different from the liquid form and does not offer the same benefits. Believe it or not, these pills don't contain ACV. Vinegar (5 percent acetic acid) only exists in liquid form.

-- Contributed by: VICHi Blanca,
Did you use Apple Cider Vinegar? Are you mixing it with water like a beverage? That is what is recommended. Make sure the vinegar you use is raw, organic Apple Cider vinegar, never distilled because pasteurizing destroys the natural enzymes, minerals, and the nutrients. If the bottle's label says "pasteurized" don't bother buying it.
Hello i have a question regarding the use of vinegar in your diet. I started a diet and applied the vinegar 1 tablespoon each day and i came very ill. Why i feel sick to my stomach and headach along with that?
