Slim in 6

From LoveToKnow Diet

The Slim in 6 diet program may sound too good to be true: slim down in 6 weeks. Is this a quick weight loss plan, promising more than it can achieve? Or, is it a unique, innovative program that can transform your body in 6 weeks without too much pain and sacrifice?

Slim in 6

What is Slim in 6?

Slim in 6 was developed by Debbie Siebers, a fitness mogul to the stars of Hollywood. She made her debut by working with the popular Body by Jake brand of fitness products. A self-proclaimed recovered compulsive eater, Ms. Siebers claims hitting the gym for the first time was responsible for her road to renewal. As she exercised and became more aware of her body, her eating habits began to take shape, too. She felt better about herself, had more energy, and hence wanted to support those feelings by eating healthier. The Slim in 6 program is just that: a fitness program with a diet plan and motivational tools packaged up and sent to your home.

Details of the Program

The program includes the following:

Start It Up: 25 minute introductory video displaying basic exercises for cardio and strength training.

Ramp It Up: 48 minute video that intensifies the initial video moves for increased calorie expenditure.

Burn It Up: 60 minute video that maximizes physical activity with a greater level of intensity.

Guidebook: everything you need to know about Slim in 6 is in these pages.

Nutritional Guide: a basic outline of what a healthy, balanced dietary intake includes.

Progress Calendar: a motivational tool to help you keep track of progress and stay on track.

Tape Measure: another motivational tool to observe your progress.

Online Support: diet and exercise tips, as well as chat areas offering assistance and reinforcement.

In addition, many "bonuses" are included with the purchase of the program. These include:

*Slim & 6-Pack: 11 minute video geared toward abdominal exercises.

*Slim & Limber: 14 minute video focused on flexibility exercises.

*6 Day Express Diet Plan: patented menus, journal, and shopping list to help you achieve a 6 pound weight loss in one week.

*Free resistance band: to enhance your work-outs for increased muscle toning and more fat burning.

*Free shipping and handling upgrade: a $15.00 value so you receive you Slim in 6 plan quicker, in about 5 – 7 days from time of ordering.

The cost to you for all of the above is about $60.00 plus $19.95 for shipping and handling.

Does It Work?

Testimonial after testimonial will offer you credible evidence that the Slim in 6 plan does work. However, results will vary for a number of reasons. Here are the pros to the program:

  • relatively inexpensive
  • in-home convenience
  • professionally produced
  • 24 hour support online
  • relatively balanced eating plan (1400 – 1600 calories per day)
  • moderate weight loss likely
  • no pills or special foods to buy and use
  • guaranteed money back policy within 6 weeks of purchase

The negatives of the plan include:

  • not individualized for various fitness levels
  • substantial risk of injury if exercises done incorrectly
  • extremely structured
  • repetitive
  • exaggerated weight loss results
  • must engage in fitness routines six days of the week
  • must be highly motivated and disciplined
  • meal planning necessary
  • grocery shopping necessary

Weighing the Pros and Cons

With its expansive marketing tactics, one may believe that this program is the answer for anyone. However, Slim in 6 is definitely not a plan for everyone. It entails dramatic changes in lifestyle for sedentary individuals and/or those who dine out often and do little grocery shopping. Jenny Craig or Slim-Fast may be better suited for this type of person.

It is not a quick fix plan. Instead, it requires persistence, consistency, and focus, just like any major change a person wants to achieve. Average weight loss for the average participant will be a couple pounds a week, and not likely to be 25 pounds in a month as one testimonial claimed. The program institutes healthy habits, and thus is relatively safe. However, it is always advisable to check with your medical practitioner before engaging in any exercise and diet plan.

Hi Vanessa,

You're wise to keep your weight in check over the holidays. It's so easy to throw healthy eating out the window for the entire month between Thanksgiving and Christmas only to face the new year with extra pounds to lose. Perhaps that's why losing weight is such a popular New Year's resolution.

I ordered the Slim In Six program when I weighed 135 pounds, which is alot for my 4'11 stature. But I lost 15 pounds in the first 2 weeks, and since then have lost a total 10 more pounds. Right now I weigh 110 pounds, and over the holidays gained 8 pounds. That put me at 118, I just pulled out my slim in six diet plan and worked out with the dvd, its been 4 days and I'm at 112. So thank you slim in six, I love it and recommend it to any one.

You are so right about structure. Before we start a diet, we tend to think it will be confining and hard to do because we'll be hungry all the time. And the real problem is we want to eat what we want whenever we want it.

Plans like Slim in 6 are well thought out and combines exercise with eating right, so it pays off in many ways. If a person wants to lose weight it does take commitment. When we want to save money we budget, if we want to have more time we learn to schedule our activities, and if we want to lose weight plans like this offer the needed help. People need structure. Here are just a few benefits when dieting:

  1. Dinner is planned ahead
  2. Helps you stay in your grocery budget because don't impulse buy
  3. Helps you stay within calorie count
  4. Helps you to eat a variety of foods
  5. Helps feed your body nutritionally
