Cabbage Soup Recipe
From LoveToKnow Diet
Ingredients
3 white onions
2 green bell peppers
3 stalks celery
1 head of green cabbage
1 can diced tomatoes
Knorr Vegetable or Beef Bouillon to taste
Tabasco sauce, if spicy taste is preferred
Directions
Dice all ingredients up into bite-sized pieces. Put in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil, and add boullion. Simmer until vegetables are the consistency that you prefer. For most people, this will be about an hour of simmering. If you like, add hot sauce to taste.
After the soup is done, some people enjoy putting the soup in a blender, and giving it a creamy texture. This is a matter of individual preference, and you may want to try it, just to give the Cabbage Soup Diet a bit of variety. Other individuals report that adding just a touch of parmesan to the top of the creamy soup adds greatly to the flavor. Although this is not in keeping with strict rules of the diet, it is certainly a good idea if you are planning to incorporate the cabbage soup into a longer-term diet plan.
Note: The most popular recipe calls for a packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix. I prefer Knorr, however, the soup mix or any brand of boullion cube should work. Many people use both.

Hi Benedict,
Whether Acne is related to nutrition is a debatable topic. I know of no evidence that the cabbage soup does or does not help acne. Many who suffer from acne go through a process of trial and error trying to find the diet that works best for them. Some diets that claim to help acne include:
- Hallelujah Diet
- Low Glycemic Index Diet
- Foods to Eat on a Raw Food Diet
Will this diet be effective to help reduce acne? If it will not can you tell a diet regimen that will? Thank you.

The principle behind the diet is that it is low in calories. The soup recipe provides ingredients designed to keep calorie and fat content low without sacrificing vital nutrients. If you don't want to eat the soup, choose a low calorie diet.
