Eye Opener

A few years ago, my parents came for an unexpected visit. I knew I had put on a lot of weight, but I was in denial. The visit was going well until my father made a comment about my weight.

I was horrified and embarrassed. It was totally rude, but then that is the way my father has always been. He has a crude sense of humour.

Moved to Action

I vowed that I was going to lose the weight. I started to exercise at home. I bought some used videos from a local thrift store.

I started Pilates, Yoga and Aerobic exercises. I alternated with doing brisk walks around the neighborhood at night. I cut out most of the high calorie and sugary snacks I had been eating. My fiance noticed the change in my body, and so did I.

Where I am Now

I was losing the weight. I have lost 10 pounds so far. It made me very happy when I stepped on the scale to realize I had lost that much. I am not at my ideal weight for my height and body makeup, but maybe one day. I am just glad to have lost the weight.

It just proves that it doesn't take gym memberships or crash diets. You just have to exercise and watch what you eat and you will see the change in your body too.
