Hi everyone, Until now I’ve steered away from low carb diets because I didn’t think they were healthy…and some of them aren’t. However, I watched my daughter-in-law drop 50 pounds following a low carb plan and that stuck with me. So I’ve reached the fed-up point and started investigating. I didn’t want a diet devoid of vegetables and fruit. I found an older diet called the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet. It was an easy read even though it is written by a couple of scientists who are themselves carb addicts. They did a lot of research and helped thousands of people while studying the effects of the diet for like 7 years. Long story short, I started yesterday. I just announced in the November 21 Day Challenge that this is my plan for November. Has anyone else tried this diet or another low carb? Donna |

Hi again, Had to pop in here and say that the diet is going very well. I mean VERY well. The biggest thing for me is that all my cravings have vanished. It is like a miracle. Plus I have more energy. Oh, and I’ve lost three pounds so far. All in all I’m thrilled. We are going away for our anniversary and I don’t have to worry about how I’m going to stay on my diet either because it isn’t hard to do. I’ll check in after I weigh in on Thursday and let you know where things stand after week one. On this diet, I’m supposed to weigh everyday and then average weight loss for the week. This has crimped the stigma of weight fluctuation for me! Donna |

Today is one week into the diet and I’ve lost just a smidge over 4 pounds. That’s wonderful and encouraging, but the thing I’m thrilled about most is that my cravings remain gone! It is like a miracle for me, because not only did I have a sweet tooth but also craved chips, breads…you know the stuff you can’t stop eating. Plus I can still eat those things in limited fashion. It’s like I’ve been freed. Donna |

Hi all, It’s been about 2 1/2 weeks not since I started this diet and I’m thrilled to say that snacking and grazing are no longer tempting me. I can’t even believe it. I’m satisfied. It is such a freeing feeling. Plus I’m losing weight. So far I’ve dropped about 5 1/2 pounds. Donna |

Hi everyone, Yesterday I fell off my diet…well not as bad as I used to, but thought I would make cookies for dessert for company coming over for dinner. I was doing fine until I licked my finger. Went over and washed my hands, but the next thing you know I was eating cookie dough with every cookie I made. In the past I would have gone on a binge. Feel like a failure, beat myself up. But today I’m back on track. This is really new for me! Donna |

Well here I am a little more than three weeks into this diet and I’m down between 6-7 pounds. You know how weight fluctuates. The thing I like is that on this diet I average my weight for the week. So while I may step on the scale one day and be up 3 pounds, it averages in the week’s total to show me my true weight loss. Very encouraging. Yesterday I made a low carb cheesecake treat for an afternoon snack and it actually tasted good! Donna |
