I recently found a great low cal frozen treat in the sumermarket. Blue Bunny is making low fat, no sugar added fudgesicles sweetened with all natural Truvia. They are called Fudge Lites and have only 90 calories and 1/2 gram of fat each. (And they taste great!) What are your favorite diet snacks? |

My favorite diet snacks are dried mango slices, brocolli, carrots, dried soy beans, dried apple slices…pretty much any dried fruit or fresh vegetable, I guess. I’m not a big fan of sweets, though. I used to eat lots of candy bars and gummy worms/bears until I went on a healthy eating binge and discovered dried mango slices, which are soooo sweet and yummy. It’s almost like eating a gummy candy, but healthier. Be careful about portions, though; mangos have lots of sugar calories. |

Oh my gosh I have got to check that out - I love Blue Bunny ice cream! My favorite treats are rice cakes with almond butter. Yes I’m odd perhaps - I love rice cakes! I also love frozen bananas. Be sure to slice them and wrap them individually in plastic wrap or else they freeze into a solid block. But boy they sure do taste yummy. |

Hi Mary, One frozen snack that is really satisfying and good for you is frozen grapes. My sister had eaten them for years and they just didn’t sound good to me…and then I tried them. Oh my, if I’m not careful I can overeat on them. My favorites are red grapes. They have taken the place of wanting ice cream! Now that says a lot! Donna |

Hmm, I’ve never thought of trying frozen grapes. I have some in the frige right now, so I think I’ll freeze a few this evening. Thanks for the great low cal snack idea. I wonder if frozen blueberries or strawberries would also be tasty? |

Hi Mary, I use frozen blueberries in smoothies but haven’t tried them as a snack by themselves. The thing about grapes is that they are still “chewable” even when frozen. Test your frozen fruits to be sure you won’t break a tooth. Let us know if blueberries work! Donna |

Hi Anne, This is a very nice list of low cal snacks. It offers variety, some sweets, some salty snacks, some with calcium, some with veggies and even some with chocolate. One other snack I enjoy, but not too often, is some of Edy’s 1/2 fat ice cream. Tastes the same as regular ice cream. A half cup is around 120ish calories but it depends on the flavor you buy.
