First Day Fasting Recap

Yesterday was my first full day of the water fast, and it was a success. There were moments of intense irritation, but I somehow managed not to kill or seriously maim anyone. That's an accomplishment in itself.

The biggest thing I notice every time I attempt a fast is just how much time is left empty when you remove eating. It's not that I'm hungry that often; I just eat a lot. I don't even eat that many meals. I just nibble... frequently. And cooking for the kids without being able to sample and taste (just to check the seasoning, of course) is trying. I've never understood the cooks who can toss things from pot to plate without a single bite. That's probably part of the reason I'm overweight in the first place, but my food is usually perfectly seasoned.

So, I made it through the day in one piece. More importantly, my home and family are still in one piece. I'm feeling pretty optimistic about this fast. Good things are coming. Here are my stats from yesterday morning:

Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 177
Waist: 35"
Hips: 42"
Upper Chest: 38"

Ugh. I can't believe I just posted that for everyone to see. Must be that faster's high kicking in. Somehow, I never realized how bottom heavy I am. That's okay, this gives me even more incentive to stay on task, complete this fast, and transition to a healthy diet and exercise program.
