Lose Weight for Summer

by Donna S. on April 03, 2009

It seems like Christmas was just here and now it's time to put in our gardens. While Christmas is months behind, unfortunately some of that holiday weight is still hanging around in the most unattractive way! It gets down to the wire like this and you look in the mirror and wonder what to do. Here are a few tips to help you shed some of those unwanted pounds along with your winter wardrobe:

1. Drink water: I know you've heard this from me over and over, but it bears repeating for more than one reason. First of all, it has no calories, and second your body needs it. Even your metabolism needs it. If you don't like it, think of it as a metabolism booster and tolerate it. You won't be disappointed.

2. Cut your portions: Use a salad plate instead of a dinner plate for your meals and avoid seconds.

3. Slow down: Take time to taste your food. Eating fast leaves you wanting more because your brain hasn't had a chance to let your stomach know that you have had enough.

4. Exercise: You want to burn calories and a great way to do it is to get out and go for a walk on a regular basis. Spring is a great time to be outdoors. Enjoy nature at it's finest and burn body fat at the same time!

Take these four steps and you'll be on your way to a thinner you for summer.
