Alli Diet Pill

by Donna S. on March 25, 2009

A better question might be, if you're eating a sensible diet why would you take Alli? Promotional literature says it's right for you if you're "ready to take responsibility." It's clear that it's not a magic pill that let's you overeat and still lose weight. The reason for taking Alli is that it may boost weight loss by 50 percent! It works by blocking absorption of about 25 percent of the fat you eat.

I'm not big on diet aids such as this, but I have tried them. The thing I like about the Alli diet pill is that they offer online help to tailor your individual diet. Along with this, the Alli community provides a place to meet with others who share similar weight loss goals. If you've tried all kinds of diets with some success, but not long-term results, taking Alli might be the tool you need to get you over the weight loss hurdle.

Before you start taking this product you'll want to talk it over with your doctor, and it's a good idea to be aware of complications and side effects you may experience. These include things like:

  • Flatulence with oily spotting
  • Loose stools that may be frequent and hard to control

These side effects typically decrease as you reduce your fat intake. When I heard this, I couldn't help but ask. "If I cut fat, eat a sensible diet and exercise, won't I lose weight whether I take Alli or not?" The answer is yes. The reason to take Alli is to make the weight come off a little faster. Considering the side effects, it's a personal choice. I don't think it is for me.
